The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we do not sell it, and we do not run anyone else's tracking on these pages.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email address, and password (stored hashed). At signup we also ask which description fits you and how many systems you are responsible for, so we understand who uses the product.
- Your systems. The water systems you add, the schedule you confirm, the tasks you complete, and the notes you and your team write.
- Lookups. When anyone looks up a PWSID, we record the PWSID, the time, the page they came from, and their network address so we can count visitors and stop abuse.
- Server logs. Ordinary web server logs, kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Where the water system data comes from
System details and violation history come from the United States EPA's public Safe Drinking Water Information System data, published quarterly. We show what the file says and when it was built. The EPA file also lists administrative contacts for each system; we never display those.
How we use it
To run the product, to send you the email the product needs (account activation, invitations, password resets), and to understand in aggregate how it is used. We do not sell personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
Who can see what
People in your account see the systems they are granted. Our staff can see account details, users, systems, and lookups in order to support you; they do not browse your tasks or notes. Nobody outside the company sees your data except the providers that host it and deliver email on our behalf.
Cookies
One session cookie to keep you signed in, and a remember-me cookie if you ask for it. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Your choices
You can correct your details in the product. Write to hello@wellrunwater.com to export or delete your account and its data; we will do it and confirm.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and, for anything significant, by email.
